TOPIC; POWER OF RESURRECTION

Memory verse; matt 25:46.

Aim:

According to the history of early church as enshrined in acts 23. When the centurion brought apostle paul to defend himself before the council. Present among the councils are 2 kinds of people. Those who believe there is resurrection. And those that believe there is no resurrection.

My studies have also shown that among the various religions groups and religious sects all over the world. There are those who believe when a person dies. The same person shall come back again a different  person. Others say the person will join the spirit of their ancestors. And some say, the person shall go an rest at alter of God, some say they shall go and rest in a place called purgatory.

I don’t know which school of taught is right or wrong. But one thing is certain and common from these various school of taught.

Though the body actually dies, the ashes go back to ashes and the sand to sand. The soul of the person continues to live.

In fact I want to believe the difference between the history of the creation of the world in Genesis chapter 1 and Genesis chapter 2 is. The Genesis chapter account relays to us, the creation of the soul. While Genesis chapter 2 relates to us the creation of the body.

And according to that Genesis chapter 1. God made soul to be immortal like Him and the spirit beings. However in His infinite wisdom. He also created a place to reward the spirits and soul that obey His word. And another place to punish the souls and spirit that disobey His word.

This places are what we commonly refer to as Hell fire and heaven.

And this is not just the consolation of every obedient soul. But the hope of all Christians. In fact according to 1 Corinthians 15 vs. 11-19. Without this hope, Christianity is a complete vanity and double misery.

In our new  testament reading today 1 Corinthians 15 vs. 1-11. Our father and our God decide to communicate to us the process flow. He have put in place for the actualization of this His ultimate purpose.( Rewarding the obedient souls and punishing the errant souls).

According to the text, he actually resurrected Christ Jesus our master. As a way to demonstrate to us that resurrection is real. And he leave us a countless witnesses to verify, this truth.

Further more. In our old testament reading 2 kings 17:21-24. We see our father and our God also demonstrating resurrection power to us. By the hand of His man, prophet Elijah.

Time and space will not permit me. To recount to us the account of the resurrection of Lazarus, the dried bones  among others.

But the question I will like you to answer by your self is. If body which is created a mortal thing. Can come back to live again. Can He who made it possible. Also make soul, which is created immortal come back to live.

Another issue that need a personal decision. Is, after resurrection, where will one find him or her self. In heaven a place of eternal rest with Christ or hell fire a place of eternal destruction.

The choice is yours, but if I will advice. Choose eternal rest with Christ by obeying Him, the word of GOD.

I pray the power of Christ, with the name of Jesus Christ to put our name in the book of life today in Jesus Christ our master mighty name. Amen.

TOPIC: THE SUPREMACY OF GOD OVER ADVERSITY.

AIM. To teach us that GOD is bigger than all adversity

From these text we read today. Job 1. Romans  8:35. Deuteronomy 8:3-5. 1 kings 17:1; 18:1-2 and 2 kings 6:1-5.

The following are clear;

1. Adversity is real.
2. It befell both the righteous and the sinner.
3. It may be to prove the genuineness of ones love towards God.
4. It may be to punish one for their rebellion against the word of God or Indifference to the word of God.
5. It may also be to separate one from the love of Christ.

But the good news  we learn t from the following bible texts are.

1. Adversity will not last for ever.
2. That God can turn captivity.
3. With Christ, adversity can not conquer us. Romans 8:37
4. And if I will add. The antidote for devil, his cohorts and their works is the fire of God  mark 5:1-20

    I pray the power of Christ, with the name of Jesus Christ  to destroy every adversity in our life, In the mighty name of our master Jesus Christ.

Sermon of Sunday 19/4/2015.

Topic; being in Gods perfect will

Aim;  To inform us that the perfect will of our father and God, is that we live by His word.

Memory verse;John 15 VS 7; If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Just months ago, as I was at Oshodi heading towards Arena market. I saw an article in an end time journal that caught my attention. I can’t really pin point the part in the journal that caught my attention.

If it is the article is centered around a Saigon. Who is warning christian clergies to stop preaching against them (fetish priest). Or he shall release  the names of over 1000 of them. That have come to acquire/receive power from him.

Or because the Saigon in question is a person I know truly well as a gentle man.

I mean to say, I come to know this Saigon while in Ghana. And the truth remains . the entire Ghana especially the great Accra region revere this young man.

When I was in Ghana, I live in a place called Saipeiman. And this Saigon have his shrine and home at Opah a suburb of Saipeiman.

He is no other person than Nana Kwaku Bonsam.

After buying the journal and reading same. I was even more troubled. I was trying to give myself reason why men of God in quote should go to sell professed man of koffi(devil)  for powers.

What will be the use of such power. To use it to witness God and His kingdom or to witness satan and his kingdom under the umbrella of man of God.

Some how I start doubting the journal. Hence I decided to discuss it with some brethren. Shockingly a sister made me to understand. Such phenomena, going to shrines, rivers etc to acquire power is the in time now. That she knew a place in Neenweh in Enugu State of Nigeria. Where people go to acquire power from a river goddess. And she have hear a pastor confess of going to calabar to acquire some power. Guess who took the pastor to the place in Calabar. A fellow man of pastor.

Another gentle man there, who happens also to be assistance pastor to a church. Says something an I quote. Think of what is the motivating factor. And you will have all the answers you are looking for.

He took his time to explain to me, that this phenomena is as a result of love of money and lust.

Which is also the reason behind the over 20 different offerings we have in churches today namely;

Prophets offering, thanksgiving offering, project offering, gate fee, welfare offering, alter offering, first fruit offering(all January salary), seed of faith, covenant seed, welfare offering, Sunday collection, priest welfare offering, widows offering etc.

I was very disappointed in the so call men of God. But looking at our old testament reading today (Ezekiel 34:1-10). You will agree with me. This greed, lust and love of money is not something that start today. Neither is it peculiar with christian pastors, evangelists, teachers, apostles and prophets.

But my consolation is this. God our father have never condoled these acts. Here in this very old testament reading. He vehemently condemn it.

According to our gospel for today (john 10:7-16). Our master Jesus Christ did not only condemn it. But do come to bring an end to this very acts.

Further more our epistle for today (Hebrews 13:1-12). Put some clarity to it while giving their voice to this will of God.

He said and I quote, we are to live in love and by grace, not by meat  (vs 8).

Even our psalm for today (psalm 23) does even a better job of it. By making us to understand. Living by God word, his perfect will for us, shall give us freedom from fear. Beside freedom from fear, it shall give us peace of mind.

So I will conclude by giving us my treasure. Establish today a master and servant relationship between the word of God and your very self.

Reason.

Our lord Jesus Christ before he came into this world. And took the position of the lamb of God. He is, he was, and will ever remain the word of God (witness John 1).

Benefits.

1.       If you try this out. Automatically all your struggle to conform to the image of our father God shall be over.

2.       The regeneration, new birth and born again you seek, shall come true.

3.       Happiness, peace of mind and whatsoever you are after shall fall into pleasant places.
4. finally from our memory verse. you will understand reason people go from prayer house to prayer house in search of answer for their prayers. and from miracle centers to miracle centers in search of miracles. is because they have fail to do 1 thing. abode the word of God in them.

I pray the power of Christ, with the name of Jesus Christ, to imprint obedience to the word of God upon our heart today in Jesus Christ our master mighty name. Amen.

Nuggets from 19/4/2015 bible study.

Topic; The supremacy of God over Nature.

Aim; to inform us that the natural disasters and forces vexing us. And the genetics problems, infirmities and defects oppressing us. Are all subject to Gods supremacy.

From the texts; genesis 1:3-10, Jeremiah 18:1-4, exodus 14:26-31, 1 kg 17:5-6, 11 kings 6:5-6, mark 4:37-39, john 14:12, Heb 13: 8, James 5:17 and john 6:1-21

The following are very clear.

1.       The forces of nature are subject to God, ref Genesis 3 :3.

2.       We human being are like clay in the hand of God.

3.       Natural things even as powerful as flood, sea are subject to Gods will.

4.       God can turn Sea (a nature) to pedestrian bridge

5.       If we pray God, He will suspend natural laws and forces for us. James 5:17.

                                                  

Impacts;

Naturals disasters as great as tsunami, tornado, global warming can be curbed by God, if we earnestly call upon Him.

Genetics problem, defects infirmities etc can be corrected by God, if we earnestly call upon Him.

      I pray the power of Christ, with the name of Jesus Christ;

1.  To correct now every genetics problem, defects and infirmities in your body in our master Jesus mighty name, Amen.

2.       To  stop global warming for us now, in the mighty name of our master Jesus Christ. Amen.
